late February - early March
Bendigo area |
VAA Bendigo Branch - Flora Identification We feel that one of the major skills is in the recognition of our honey producing flora, in particular, the Eucalypt species. The ability to recognise different trees in the field is the first step in being able to determine whether the trees are (a) carrying buds, and (b) flowering.
We are seeking expressions of interest from beekeepers wishing to expand their knowledge in this area, in attending a proposed 'Flora Identification Session' in the Bendigo area in late February/early March - date to be announced.
A late morning start, a small charge for a light lunch, a walk, look and talk amongst the trees for a couple of hours is envisaged. R.S.V.P by Monday 30th January 2012. President, Don McArthur 0407 513 281 Secretary, Bill Shay 0419 337 276 |

Apimondia world conference on Organic Beekeeping
San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico |
2nd Apimondia World Conference on Organic Beekeeping in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico
More information on the event on the following website www.ecosur.mx/abejas
It will be an open space to everybody, beekeepers, researchers, organisations, traders... to share experiences and opinions, present recent data, debate about social and environmental values in our works, debate about urgent topics like genetically modified organisms and how they affect beekeeping, show pictures, videos or recipes, and much more.
You may present a short video, showing beekeeping in your country, in a dynamic, original and instructive way. Fans of the picture, be encouraged to submit your work, as it will give much life to our meeting! The Highlands of the Chiapas region, in all its cultural diversity and natural richness, is waiting for you, in the promise of a great meeting. We will appreciate your help to share this call.
