The VAA Library

The Victorian Beekeepers’ Library holds an extensive collection of books, booklets and videos on many beekeeping and related subjects.

The library is wholly owned by the Victorian Apiarists’ Association Inc. and is managed by the association’s Library Trust.
The Library first opened in 1978.

Items are available for loan to VAA members at each monthly meeting of the VAA Melbourne Section (except December).

Sometimes items are available for loan at VAA branches such as Bendigo and Sunraysia.

For new and experienced beekeepers books and other media are a valuable source of information. Bees and beekeeping is an ongoing learning experience.

We can only observe, research, conclude and speculate, and whatever is written about bees and beekeeping is based on what we humans think is right about bees and beekeeping; none of it has ever been audited or approved by bees.

In general, we should not base our knowledge on one source of information only. This is in particular valid when it comes to bees and beekeeping. Therefore, the more books we read about bees, the more likely it is that what we understand about bees and beekeeping could be right from the bees' perspective.

The VAA has a respectable Library of books, VCRs and DVDs about bees and beekeeping.
